Cooperation
The Montepulciano College of the Arts is a co-operation between the seven art and music colleges in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It enables students and teachers from the participating universities in Montepulciano to engage in interdisciplinary artistic work and research in order to open up new approaches to the arts.
The special working formats include the SummerLab and the Laboratory of the Arts with different focal points in interdisciplinary collaboration and subject-related specialisation. In addition, students from all disciplines can apply to work at Palazzo Ricci as part of the short residency programme students in residence. In addition, the college enables students on artistic degree programmes to take part in an annual chamber music project.
As part of study projects, the universities involved in the college also use the Palazzo Ricci for their own projects. University classes and ensembles can work here with their lecturers in a special atmosphere. Concerts or small exhibitions on site are also possible. For these projects, the Palazzo is generally available to cooperating universities from April to June and from October to November. If you are interested in using Palazzo Ricci as part of this co-operation, please contact us using the contact form.
Participants in this unique “College of the Arts” are the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf, the Folkwang University of the Arts Essen, the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, the Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln, the Kunstakademie Münster and the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Participation in the College’s projects is recognised as academic credit.
The Kolleg der Künste Montepulciano is made possible by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and DAAD funding.
